The Orangery
Commissioned by Edmund Colville in 2021 for the Orangery at West Lexham Estate, this bespoke mosaic series by Mosaic Memories celebrates the Sun’s path, shifting seasons, and elemental forces through reclaimed materials and flowing design. The mosaics were crafted to form a tactile dialogue with natural light, landscape, and rhythm. From the striking central Nature Wheel to the seasonal and alchemical pieces, the mosaic invites visitors into a space where art, ecology, and the passage of time converge. A lasting commission rooted in place, transformation, and beauty.

Sōtō Zen Practice Centre
Ancient Song Zendo
As part of its evolving space in 2024, Ancient Song Zendo sought a mosaic to honour the quiet thresholds of Zen practice through the forms of a Song Thrush and Hawthorn. Set into the clay and lime of the roundhouse meditation space, the resulting work responds to shifting light—catching the day’s glow, echoing the matured garden, and softening into moonlight. Rooted in symbol, mindfulness, and seasonal rhythm, it offers a gentle welcome to wayseekers and seasoned practitioners alike—a contemplative marker where place, practice, and silence meet.

Barsham Sun
In 2025, Mosaic Memories crafted a floor mosaic to root heritage and play within a family home. Realised as a 1.5-metre octagon in glass and encaustic cement tile, it draws on the Sun emblem linked to the Albion Fairs of the 1970s. The image returns here with a knowing wink, carrying memory into the rhythms of present life. Fixed as an exterior floor mosaic, it answers the radiant noon, the glow of dusk, and the gentle sparkling of night. This artwork now offers a point of gathering; a celebration of place, family, and the artistry calling East Anglia its home.
